A teen-aged friend told me he is a homosexual, he doesn't want to be and doesn't want his parents to know about his trouble. What can he do?-Initials withheld.

He should hurry to his family physician, ask that his trouble be held in strictest confidence and ask for help, either from the physician or through referral to a psychiatrist. If he doesn't have a family physician, he should hurry to an MD in his neighborhood.
